Here it is!
Release date: November 28th 2013
Maci Might’s sixteenth birthday is supposed to be the day she’s awarded Hero status. But thanks to a tiny anger problem and a questionable family tree, King City’s elders think it’s best if she doesn’t join the Hero ranks. Determined to change their minds, Maci will break whatever rule it takes to prove she’s Hero material. As her hair darkens and her anger grows, everyone turns against her except Evan; a childhood friend turned scientist who may be able to unlock the secrets hidden in her DNA.
When a villain attacks King City and her dad is held prisoner, Maci discovers a truth she refuses to believe. She may not be a Hero after all—but this time the Heroes of King City need her more than she needs them. And she won’t let them down.
My Review: 5 stars!
POWERED is rightly named so! I was lucky enough to receive an advanced review copy before its release and I’m so glad I did 🙂
This book was kickass! With a MC whose name is Maci Might, it had better be kickass…and she definitely lived up to her name. This book is a YA lover’s dream come true: tons of action, a likable cute guy, drama, and lots of excitement.
Our heroine was a heroine! She was flawed (anger issues, anyone?) but I like that in characters. And she worked through her flaws. No one’s perfect, especially a 16-year-old with her current problems, but darn it, she tries her hardest. She loves her family, cherishes her best friend, and craves for the purpose in life of becoming a Hero.
By the way, ❤ Evan. Love him to pieces.
Don’t want to give out any spoilers so I’ll stop right here.
POWERED is an authentic YA novel that will be enjoyed by many. And it’s far from over. I can’t wait for the next book!
“If you think about it, it’s not such a big deal.” I force my brain to remember all the logical explanations and excuses I had thought up on my walk back home. “It’s not like I killed a real human.”
Not so sexy now, are you?
“Oh, get off it, girl. Crimson begged for that cleavage.”
Cheyanne Young is a native Texan with a fear of cold weather and a coffee addiction that probably needs an intervention. She loves books, sarcasm, nail polish and paid holidays. She lives near the beach with her daughter, one spoiled rotten puppy and a cat who is most likely plotting to take over the world.
