Life as a new author …
Divainpyjamas is organizing the sign up/tour and she is fantastic so I had to give an honourable mention. Go check out her blog. It’s beautiful, I tell you.
The funniest thing, though. I went back and forth, back and forth on what to categorize this book as: Mature YA or New Adult. The amount of times I changed it on Goodreads is ridiculous. After long heated discussions with many, I’ve decided on … wait for it …
Mature YA/New Adult Contemporary.
Hey, I’m chartering on unknown territory with this New Adult thing so I feel I have to keep that YA title in there somewhere. I write about vampires and fallen angels for crying out loud. Personally, I don’t think it’s that New Adulty. (Yes, I know “Adulty” is not a word). On the other hand, there is tons of swearing, courtesy of Jade and friends, and some sexual content. Some.
On another note, I’ve been designing bookmarks for Those Four Letter Words and my next untitled book (shh, it’s a secret) and I have to say it’s been tons of fun. I can’t wait to see what they look like. They will be part of the giveaway for the blog tour and I’ll probably hand out a bunch downtown with an author friend who also made bookmarks for her YA Fantasy series. We’ll make it a Bookmark Day. The design’s below. When I get them in the mail, I’ll let you know how they compare. This is just the front of the bookmark. The back has a quote from the book as well as my details.
***There are a few more days of the giveaway over at Addicted Readers. You can win a SIGNED copy of Dahlia. And Rowan (Book 2) is still only $0.99!***
Among other things …
One more month exactly until the Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z concert in Toronto. Woot! Finally, a concert I won’t actually be working. I paid a mighty dollar for these tickets so I am going to enjoy myself. 🙂
Until next time,
